COMEDY IMPROVISATION
Improvisation is an invaluable tool for strengthening communication, excellent creative play, builds team spirit and confidence. Students are taught specific techniques and how to apply them truthfully – allowing the humor to come from the situation. You’ll develop your timing, listening and rhythm skills. Each exercise is designed as a no-fail method to utilize each individual’s humor. It will assist in determining strong choices, pushing boundaries and identifying strengths. This workshop is formatted to include warm-up, technique, planning exercises and theatre games. Students work in groups of 2, 3, 4 and sometimes 5, adding layers of difficulty and interest; not to mention the fun and laughs you’ll experience through the process.

Laurie A. Guzda, is a professional actor/director/writer with over twenty-five years of experience. In addition to her role as the Assistant Director for the beauty pageant in Miss Congeniality, Laurie has appeared in several films. Her comedic training began in 1980 with Harvey Lembeck at Paramount Studios. She continued with Bill Hudnut at ABC-TV. Additional acting training came from the Actor’s Studio in LA and the Actor’s Center in London.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Take better photographs using basic applied techniques while exploring color, texture and perspective to enhance and expand your vision. The workshop begins with as 30 min educational lecture. Students are given assignments to photograph for the next hour. The remaining hour is spent viewing and commenting on selected images.

CREATIVE WRITING | SHORT STORY
How to take random ideas along with your personal experiences to create an interesting and entertaining story? The workshop begins with a 30 min educational lecture that includes structure, samples and suggested practices. Students are given assignments and 15 minutes to write. We will review and comment. 4 structured assignments are explored.

NATURE HIKES
Enjoy a guided nature hike identifying wildlife, specific trees and their uses, flowers, shrubs and plants. Local history and folklore is included.

Gallery events, shows, auctions… meeting people, especially perspective buyers, can have you tongue-tied and uncomfortable selling yourself. This workshop is a fun and comfortable way to identify your tripping points and how to adjust your replies. Create some “go to” responses. Listen for the keys words that will help you make a sale!
