Angkor Wat has been on my list of places to see for over twenty years. I was fortunate to enjoy a sunrise with an unobstructed view on a beautiful Easter morning. Angkor Wat is one of three temples in the complex with Angkor Thom and the Bayon as the other two. The images of the young monks were taken at Angkor Thom. The one young monk stood with such intensity that as he looked at me it felt as though he looked right through me and suddenly he smiled a big, bright grin. It’s one of my favorite images. I found the Cambodian people to be very warm, open and friendly. Bayon is an amazing site with the dramatic overgrowth of roots. There is an image that depicts a stone carving of a stegosaurus – strange and quite interesting since it was built in the late 12th century. How did they know about prehistoric creatures?
